  • WHERE IS KOH LANTA AND THE GYM LOCATED IN THAILAND?

    Lanta is located in south east Thailand. It's nearest main town and airport is Krabi. It lies on the west coast of Andaman Sea in between Krabi and Phi Phi Island. The gym is tucked away 100 meter from the main road. from the main road that runs along the East of the island. We are opposite Phrae beach, a left turn after the main turn for the old town and opposite Relax Bay resort road. < Link to map >
  • WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO VISIT?

    There are different seasons on the island with the weather. High season is considered to be from the beginning of October to the end of April where there are more tourists on the island and the weather is much drier hotter. Low season is also a good time to visit where the island sees about 2 days a week of rain. Temperatures on Koh Lanta average around 28-32C during the day, with a maximum of around 36C during March and April. The Muay Thai gym is open all year. We are near but not on the beach, you can walk to long beach in approx 20mins or a motorbike in 5 mins.
  • DO YOU TEACH TRADITIONAL MUAY THAI TECHNIQUES?

    Yes, we do although we generally teach foreign students but all our trainers are from traditional muay thai gyms and trained in authentic techniques.
  • CAN YOU TEACH COMPLETE BEGINNERS WITH NO EXPERIENCE?

    We have private sessions that are perfect for beginners. For 60-90 minutes you will have one-to-one with a trainer who will go through warming up, stretching, the different Muay Thai techniques, padwork and bagwork.
  • CAN YOU TRAIN WOMEN AND CHILDREN?

    Absolutely, the gym has about 30% women and 10% children from the ages of 5 years old and upwards. It is common in Thailand to start Muay Thai training at a young age.
  • RESPECTFUL CLOTHING AT THE GYM AND ON THE ISLAND?

    We ask that men and woman wear respectful clothing to the gym and around the island. No bikinis for women. Men are welcome to have their shirts off while training but it's advisable to cover up on the island as the locals do.
  • CAN I TRAIN AND TAKE PART IN A REAL MUAY THAI FIGHT?

    For fighters we have the fighter contract (which you can view here) that states training twice a day is free with payment only for accommodation and a commitment to once every two weeks. Just shorts to train in, the shorts should be a sport variety that are stretchy so you are able to lift your legs. We provide all the training ,water and energy drink. It is advisable to buy hand wraps for wrist protection and rehydration drinks for after training.
